Brokeback Mountain



When I saw this movie, I did not know the story, had only heard form friends that it was very powerful. It's the kind of movie I like the best, as my partner says "slow and arty", character driven. It was not until after that I understood the story. Somehow for me, being gay has meant that my true feelings are hidden - most of all from myself!! Brokeback Mountain depicted this strange reality perfectly.
I have spoke to gay guys that will not go to see the movie because they say they have lived it. I am not ready to see it again.
I had a big reaction to the Brokeback jokes that were everywhere for a while, it seemed too painful a subject to be able to laugh at. "I'm not gay..." jokes hit too close to home.
But, I beleive in being able to laugh at myself, and the world needs less seriousness, so here are a few links to Brokeback parodies that every gay needs to see:
